Jim Muzynoski and Guide Scott Achilles

The Captains’ Weekend Walleye Boot Camp - Sign up now!

Captain Dale Gilbert, a Montana guide and past PWT Pro and Scott Achilles, a Montana guide and past tournament angler have teamed up to offer an advanced “Weekend Walleye Boot Camps” for anglers.

We will focus on how to locate fish fast, and how to choose the correct strategy for the situation. Learn when you should make a change from one strategy to another. Watch firsthand how to use electronics and maps to eliminate unproductive water. We will also discuss boat handling, safety, and rigging.

The Walleye Boot Camp will be a two and one-half day session, starting Friday afternoon that include time both on and off the water with Dale and Scott. Strategizing sessions will be held each day, before and after hitting the water for some actual hands on experience to learn about the techniques they use and why.

There are a limited number of slots available for each Boot Camp location and date. The participants will be split into 2 groups. Each group will get to spend a day with Scott and a day with Dale in their rigs – Scott has a Lund 208 Pro-V GL - one of the newer glass Lund boats and Dale is running a Lund 2075 Pro-V IFS, both powered by the 300hp Mercury Verado, both with Lowrance HDS units with StrutureScan and DownScan, and the Minn Kota Terrova with Universal Sonar and i-Pilot. Participants bringing their own boats will receive ample time to review their boat setup, transducer locations, tips etc.

Tentative dates and locations are as follows:

May 18-20th at Fresno Reservoir by Havre.
June 29-July 1st at Hell Creek on Fort Peck Reservoir.
July 6-8th at Hell Creek on Fort Peck Reservoir.
